In STEAM, students in Grade 3 learned about extreme weather conditions in correlation with their Science curriculum. To model one form of extreme weather, students discussed how tornados form and created their own tornados in a bottle. By filling one bottle with water and connecting it to an empty bottle, students were able to experiment how to create the circular motion that creates the funnel for a tornado.
