The First Week of School at LPS!

The students at Lawrence Primary School have been acclimating themselves back to the school routine, meeting new teachers, making new friends, and of course learning!

Below is a snapshot of some of the many activities that occurred this week during our first full week of school:

*Students in Mrs. Taranto's first grade class wrote poems about fall! Students brainstormed different fall activities such as raking leaves, jumping in leaves, picking pumpkins, and picking apples. In addition, Mrs. Taranto's first grade students learned that autumn is a synonym for the word fall!*

*Ms. Baltzer and her first grade learners spent time this week learning about reducing, reusing, and recycling. Students had an opportunity to apply what they've learned by bringing in containers from home to make a Recycle City!*

*The second grade learners in Ms. Romito's class spent time this week reading and writing about Johnny Appleseed, also known as John Chapman. Students worked in small groups to practice their reading and writing skills.*

*Ms. Brown's third grade learners read books on Raz Kids while tranquil music played in the background. The Lucky Ducks in Ms. Brown's class were so immersed in reading, that they wanted to continue reading even after the timer went off!*
