Our talented music department from throughout the district visited us today for a special Band and Orchestra Assembly! Third grade students learned about the four families of instruments that make up an orchestra and band: the string family, percussion family, brass family, and woodwind family.
Students had the opportunity to hear the beautiful sounds of the violin, viola, cello, double bass, snare drum, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, flute, and saxophone. They also learned that orchestra begins in 3rd grade and band begins in 4th grade! All students will have the opportunity to participate in the 3rd Grade Spring Concert, where they will sing and play the recorder.
Our students did a wonderful job demonstrating the Quaver 5 during the assembly. They remembered to Be Responsible, Be Cooperative, and Be Polite, showing that they know how to be respectful and attentive audience members!
