Kindness Cafe is a warm and welcoming SEL program where students in grades 1–3 come together from different classrooms to build important character traits. Each session, led by our support staff, highlights a theme like kindness, fairness, sharing, giving, mindfulness, or teamwork through fun activities, stories, and conversations.
At the Kindness Cafe, students practice positive social skills, learn how to care for themselves and others, and strengthen their sense of community, all in a friendly and fun environment designed to make everyone feel included and valued.

At Lawrence Primary School, we recognize that social emotional learning is essential to every child’s growth. Our commitment is reflected in the many ways we support students each day through engaging character education programs, our interactive kindness cafe, read-alouds, schoolwide assemblies that celebrate positive behavior, and the everyday moments when teachers and support staff turn real-life experiences into meaningful lessons. Together, these practices help students build empathy, resilience, responsibility, and strong relationships, creating a safe and supportive school community where every child can thrive.
