On Thursday, May 2nd two Lawrence Primary School students were celebrated for the NYS Association for Health, Physical Education Recreation and Dance Outstanding Physical Education award. Nominated by Lawrence Primary School Physical Education teachers Mr. Bernard McQuillan and Ms. Tara Nelsen, recipients included Andy Villatoro and Heaven Land. These students were nominated for their demonstration of responsible behavior, leadership, value of physical activity and wellness and overall excellence in Physical Education.
Lawrence Primary School Physical Education teacher, Tara Nelsen, accompanied the students as a representative from the building and as the NYS AHPERD Nassau Zone President. This organization's goal is aimed at celebrating the importance of sports, fitness and dance and seeking new ways to make Physical Education fun, vital and valued. Thank you to our Primary School Physical Education staff for teaching these values each day to our students and for celebrating their achievements in this area.
