I Can Learn New Things


To celebrate Read Across America Week, first grade students in STEAM read Dr. Seuss, "The Lorax" and then used their engineering skills to build Truffula trees using different building materials! 

During Black History Month, grade 3 students in Ms. Mcabe's class learned about many influential African Americans who helped change our world! 


Students in Ms. Young's art class studied the artist Alma Woodsey Thomas. She is known for her colorful abstract paintings and loved nature. Students were given the opportunity to choose a theme within nature to represent her work! 

February 27 has been set aside as International Polar Bear Day. Grade 2 students in Ms. Lopeck's class learned many facts about Polar Bears and participated in a hands-on activity by using marshmallows to make igloos! 



 Students in Ms. Twomey's class, Ms. Lopeck's class,  Ms. Appleman's class and Ms. Novello's class celebrated Read Across America Day! Each year, National Read Across America Day is celebrated on March 2nd, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The annual event is part of Read Across America, an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association. This event is to encourage and celebrate reading!
