African American Club – Advisor – Mr. Torres

All African American Club members must come to room 224 right after school Thursday, January 30, for yearbook pictures.  We will have a short meeting after to discuss upcoming events.  Please be on time.  See you there!

 

CNA Program

10th GRADE STUDENTS!! Start your future in healthcare now!

Become a Certified Nurse Assistant

Do you like to help people? Think a career in healthcare is for you? Now is the chance!  Then sign up for our Certified Nurse Assistant Program.  Lawrence High School offers this 2 year program starting in the 11th grade.  Students will practice the basic of caring for patients, in the classroom and hospital settings. 

Learn to:

  • Take vital signs
  • Transfer and position patients
  • Make a hospital bed
  • Feed patients and offer personal hygiene care
  • Provide catheter care and collect specimens

Students will also learn about infection control, anatomy and physiology and medical terminology.

This course is offered through a partnership with BOCES Barry Tech and is taught by a Registered Nurse right here in room 136.

This course is certified by New York! You will leave high school ready to start your career.

Wednesday and Friday, February 5th and 7th, there is an opportunity to meet the students and tour the lab.  Skills demo, Q & A games, trivia and prizes.  Free mini manicure by appointment.

Girls who Code – Advisor – Ms. Isseroff

Girls who code will meet today in room 120 after school.  Bring your Chromebooks.

 

Key Club – Advisor- Mr. Mayo

There will be a Key Club meeting Thursday at 2:45 pm in room 125F.  Please bring all money from WFC Sales.

 

Latin American Club – Advisors – Ms. Torres and Mr. Avalos

The Latin American Club will meet Wednesday at 2:40 pm in room 224 to discuss upcoming events.  All dancers must attend to discuss final details on Dances.

Multi-cultural Club – Advisor – Ms. Kind

Attention all members of the multi-cultural club. This Wednesday, January 29th, we will be taking our group photo for the yearbook!  Officers please be sure to attend.  We’ll meet at 2:45 in room 125E!  Then we will head into the meeting to discuss and plan our annual field trip.

Players, if they want to play softball, this season should make every effort to attend this brief meeting.

PM School for English and Math will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:45 pm – 5:45 pm, rooms 101 and 103.
