Today, in our English classes we will look at your SEL program and focus on calming our emotions and developing ways to manage stressful situations.

In other words, strong emotions are a normal part of life, but they can get in the way of being at our best. Learning how to calm down and think clearly will help us in class, in the halls, and at home. This week, let’s practice naming our emotions, taking deep breaths to calm down, and reflecting on how we feel when we do this. Pay attention when you are feeling strong emotions and use your calming skills on the spot. Notice the peaceful feelings that follow.

All students who are registered for the SAT or ACT in December, please see Mr. Ballantyne in order to sign up for free online tutoring classes no later than November 8th.

The African American Club will have a meeting this Thursday for all members. Please be on time. We have a lot to discuss. Hope to see you there!!

Guidance News!
A representative from New Paltz will be in the Guidance Office conference room on Wednesday, November 6th, 4th period to discuss admission process and scholarship opportunities. If you are interested in attending, you will need to sign up in the guidance office prior to the meeting. If you have a class during that time, you will need to have your teacher sign a permission slip which you can also obtain from the guidance office.

Latin American Club – Advisors – Ms. Torres and Mr. Avalos
Attention Latin American Club! There will be a meeting on Wednesday regarding the talent show. Any members that want to participate must attend the meeting. We will also be discussing up- coming events. Hope to see you there.
Senior News!
Please support Lawrence High School’s Senior Class 2020. Today, November 4th, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Panera will be having a fundraiser for us. Please bring flyer or show electronic version to the casher when you place your order and they will donate a portion of the proceeds from your
purchase. If you are ordering online for rapid pick up or delivery, enter “PRFUND” as your promo code to have a portion of your proceeds donated to our school.
