Athletics – Advisor – Michael Gordon

There will be a meeting for all students interested in joining the Boys Basketball Team on Monday, October 28th, at 2:45 pm in the gym.

 

There will be a meeting for all students interested in joining the Wrestling Team on Thursday, October 24th, at 2:45 pm in the Cafeteria.

Attention all student athletes, the doctor will be coming to school or Thursday, October 24th at 2:00 pm to complete winter sports physicals for anybody who needs them.  You must be registered online at Final Forms and have all forms completed and signed by both the parent/guardian and student athlete in order to see the doctor.  Physical forms can be picked up in the Athletic office or Nurses Office.

Congratulations to the girls JV Volleyball Team on defeating Glen Cove H.S.  3 games to 2.  They are on a two game winning streak.  Our next home game is Thursday, October 24th at 4:30 pm.

Broadway Showcase – Advisors – Ms. Staller and Mr. Riley

Come audition for Shrek the musical on Wednesday, October 23rd.  All are welcome! Sing 30-40 seconds of a song of your choosing or if you’re auditioning for a specific role, then sing the song of that character.  Sign up for a slot with Mr. Riley in the Chorus room.

 

College Bound – Advisor – Mr. Woods

Today after school College Bound will be meeting in room 309.  If you have any questions please ask Daniela Andrade of Mr. Woods.

 

College Visit

A representative from University of Scranton will be in the Guidance Office Conference Room today, October 22nd, 6th Period to discuss admission process and scholarship opportunities.  If you are interested in attending, you will need to sign up in the guidance office prior to the meeting.  If you have a class during that time, you will need to have your teacher sign a permission slip which you can also obtain from the guidance office.

Dance Honor Society – Advisor – Ms. Leila Sales

Introducing Spooky Boo’s! Don’t miss out! The dance Honors society will be selling spooky Boo’s all next week.  Spook your boo thang or friend or best friend or teacher or even yourself with goodies and treats to feast upon.  The Spooky Boo’s only cost $3.00.  You must have exact change.  Don’t forget when you order the Spooky Boo give the persons number that you ordered for, make sure the person you order for has a working cell phone and can receive messages.  On Halloween your boo thang will be surprised by a special text telling them to come pickup their Spooky Boo.  Don’t miss out, Spook your Boo this Halloween with a Spooky Boo from the Dance Honors Society!

 

Key Club – Advisor – Mr. Mayo

This Halloween, October 31st, Key Club wants your Blood!!!

It’s the annual Lawrence HS Blood Drive.

The Blood Drive will take place on Thursday, October 31st from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm

All donating students must bring their student ID in order to donate.  16 year old students must have a parent permission form to donate. Forms are available from Mr. Mayo or Key Club Officers.  Please donate, each donation saves two lives.  Thank you from Key Club!

 

Math Mentors – Advisors – Mr. Mugno and Ms. McComsey

Do you like math? Is math considered one of your favorite subjects?  If so, come to math mentors! There will be a meeting for all math mentors today after school in the library.  We will sign up for  the first semester.  The actually mentoring program will start next week on Mondays and Wednesdays in the library after school.

 

Multicultural Club –Advisor – Ms. Kind

Attention students in the Multicultural club and anyone who would like to join!  We need you!!!  Come Wednesday, after school to room 125E, where our meetings are held, grab a snack, kick back and get ready to plan the year!  This meeting we are looking to find members who want to run for office.  This Wednesday, Room 125E

 

National Honor Society – Advisors – Mr. Mugno and Ms. McComsey

National Honor Society meeting will take place today after school in room 243.

 

Safe Treat or Treat – Advisors – Jessica McComsey and Mr. Mugno

On Thursday, October 24th from 5-7 pm, the National Honor Society is hosting their annual “Safe Trick or Treat” at Lawrence high School.  The admission is $5. per family and all proceeds will be donated to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation.  Please keep in mind, no child will be admitted into the school without a parent.  Come dressed in your costumes for a fun night with family and friends at Lawrence High School’s “Safe Trick or Treat”. See you there!!!

 

Talent Show – Advisor – Ms. Kind

The Talent show will be coming up soon.  It’s a night where ANY student can perform in a show.  They can dance, sing, play an instrument, perform a comedy act and whatever you would like to do.  It’s run by the Junior Student Government but not only for Juniors to perform in.

The cost is $5.00 but right now auditions are coming up.  They are on Friday, October 25th, right after school, in the Little Theater. If you have an emergency, see Ms. Kind.  She will rearrange another time for you to audition but only in an emergency. 

 

TRI-M – Advisor-Mr. Batts

TRI-M Music Honor Society will meet today after school. This is a general meeting for all TRI-M members.
